The board of the Order took note of the advisory committee’s report and approved the recommendations put forward on CPAs’ professional liability relating to all services other than financial statement audits and financial statement audit services provided by CPAs (in French only).

The Ordre submitted a French brief to the Public Finance Committee as part of special consultations to study the report entitled Innover pour pérenniser le système de retraite. Last week, the Order presented a substantive French brief on Bill 17, An Act to amend the Professional Code with respect to disciplinary justice, to the Committee on Institutions. Since protecting the public is one of its main areas of strategic focus, the Order applauds the government’s commitment to optimize the mechanisms in place to ensure that the public and professionals are better served and obtain justice within a reasonable timeframe.
